The Truth Beneath Her Story
A Six-Week Faith-Integrated Christian Counseling Journey for Women

There comes a time in a woman’s life when she begins to wonder if the version of herself she has been living, is the whole truth.

Maybe she has been carrying old labels or has spent years being strong for everyone else. Maybe grief, disappointment, motherhood, marriage, ministry, loss, or transition have changed her in ways she has not fully had time to name. Maybe she knows she loves God, but somewhere along the way, she has lost sight of herself.

The Truth Beneath Her Story is a six-week Christ-centered counseling journey created for women who are ready to slow down, look honestly at the chapters that have shaped them, and rediscover who God says they are.

This is not about becoming someone new.

It is about uncovering the truth God placed within you before pain, survival, shame, fear, or other people’s expectations began writing over it.

At Storybrook, we believe every woman has a story worth tending. Not just the polished parts or easy chapters. The hidden places matter too. The confusing seasons, wounds and the roles she had to carry. The places where she became quiet, guarded, exhausted, or unsure of herself.

God is not afraid of your story.

And you do not have to walk back through it alone.
Who This Journey Is For?
This six-week journey may be for you if you are:

-
Going through a life transition and wondering who you are now
-
Feeling stuck between who you have been and who God is calling you to become
-
Carrying old labels, shame, regret, or insecurity
-
Tired of performing, pleasing, proving, or surviving
-
Grieving the loss of a person, season, relationship, dream, or version of yourself
-
Longing to feel grounded again in your identity in Christ
-
Ready to understand your story with compassion instead of criticism

You do not need to have the words for what you are feeling.
You do not need to have your story figured out before you begin.
You only need a willingness to let God meet you there.

What We Will Explore
Over six weeks, we will compassionately walk through the story of your life with faith and care.

Together, we will look at:

The chapters that shaped you
The people, seasons, roles, wounds, losses, and experiences that influenced how you came to see yourself.

The labels you have carried
The names, expectations, fears, and beliefs that may have attached themselves to your identity.

The survival patterns that once helped you
The ways you learned to protect yourself, keep going, stay useful, stay needed, or stay safe.

The truth God speaks over you
Scripture, prayer, reflection, and guided conversation to help you remember who you are in Christ.

The woman beneath the noise
The gifts, longings, strengths, courage, and calling that may have been buried beneath responsibility or pain.

The next faithful step
A look toward the future, not with pressure, but with hope.
What Makes This Storybrook?
The Truth Beneath Her Story is not a rushed program or a one-size-fits-all lesson plan.

It is a guided, prayerful space where Christian counseling, story reflection, Scripture, and symbolic practices come together in a way that feels personal, meaningful, and deeply human.

At Storybrook, we often use story-based reflection because sometimes a woman can understand her life more clearly when she is invited to see it with compassion. Your story is not treated like a problem to fix, but as sacred ground to walk carefully with God.

This journey may include conversation, prayer, journaling prompts, Scripture reflection, identity work, story exercises, and meaningful practices designed to help you notice what God may be revealing.

For those who come in person, Storybrook may also include quiet spaces for reflection, prayer, and, as the property continues to unfold, the use of the natural surroundings that make Storybrook what it is: woods, water, stillness, and room to breathe.
Six Weeks of Guided Care
Each session builds on the one before it.

You will not be pushed to share more than you are ready to share.Â
You will not be asked to relive your story without care or be handed quick answers.
Â
Instead, you will be invited to slow down, notice, name, pray, reflect, and begin seeing your story through the eyes of grace.

By the end of the six weeks, the hope is not that every question is answered or every wound is fully healed.

The hope is that you will begin to recognize the truth beneath your story:

You are not only what happened to you, what you lost or what others called you.Â

You are deeply known and loved by God.
And your story is not over.

A Note from Michelle
I created Storybrook because I know what it is to spend years carrying names
God never gave me.

I know what it is to love God, serve faithfully, show up for other people, and
still feel hurt and unseen in places that should have been safe.

Through years of ministry, counseling care, chaplaincy, grief work, motherhood,
and walking alongside women through real life, I have seen how many of us
carry identities shaped more by pain than by truth.

Some were shaped by loss, survival, or even family roles.

Some by ministry, motherhood, marriage, divorce, disappointment, silence,
rejection, or years of being the one who had to hold everything together.
But here's what I've learned: God is not finished with your story. And you were
never meant to stay in the middle.

My hope is that Storybrook becomes a place where you can slow down,
remember whose you are, and take steps toward the life God has always seen for you.

Storybrook exists for these women.
